Key Stage 1
In Key Stage 1 children fill in a homework book on Monday to Thursday.
They have a mixture of literacy and maths work to complete. The
children then hand in their homework on Friday and it is marked and
returned on the following Monday.
As part of their homework, children are also expected to read for
10 minutes each night (Monday to Friday) and we ask their parent/carers
to sign their child’s reading diary. Children are rewarded with chance
cards for reading each night and at the end of the week we have a lucky
dip to find out which child has won a prize! This is to reward
consistent reading at home.
Key Stage 2
Each class gives out homework in a slightly different manner, but
all children in Key Stage 2 are required to read every school night.
Class 6 – Homework is handed out on a Monday and collected in on a Friday.
Class 7 – Days and times vary each week. Homework is given out as and
when is appropriate with the work that the children are doing in class.
Class 8 – Homework is handed out on a Monday and collected in on a Friday.
Class 9 – Homework is handed out on a Friday and collected in
on the following Friday.
Class 10 – Days and times vary each week. Homework is given out as
and when is appropriate with the work that the children are doing in class.
