Welcome to Class 11! In this class our Teacher is Miss Nicholson and our Teaching Assistants are Ms Sanderson and Mrs Litchfield.
This term in Class 11 we will be learning about lots of things. For our R.E. topic we learned all about ‘Beliefs in Action’.
During this topic, we learned about Islamic Relief and Christian Aid. They are charities that help people throughout the world
by raising money to send to other countries for people who are in need. It has really made us think about how lucky we are!
In I.C.T we have been learning about ‘Control and Monitoring’. We especially enjoyed using Scratch to make our own animations.
It was really fun!
We really enjoyed learning about Earth, Sun and Moon in Science too. It was fascinating learning how we get day and night
and the different seasons. We have also really enjoyed our gardening this half term because we got to design our own new
patch of land. We decided to plant lots of bulbs so that they bloom into beautiful flowers in spring. How exciting!

In Literacy we especially enjoyed learning all about Performance Poetry. We learned that you can change the volume of your voice
and the expression to make poetry sound really exciting. You can even add your own dance moves.
Lastly, a big thankyou to Class 11 from Miss Nicholson and Mrs Litchfield for the huge effort you put into our Christmas performance
at the end of the Autumn Term, you really were amazing!

Having fun at the performance!

Rockin’ around the Christmas Tree!
This term in Numeracy we will be improving our mental maths and our knowledge of number.
Alongside this we will be learning about fractions, factors and multiples. We will also be
learning about written methods for addition, subtraction and multiplication. In literacy our
topic will be ‘Novels from Significant Authors’ and we will be linking it to our World War Two (WWII) topic.
We will be focusing on ‘The Amazing Adventure of Adolphus Tips’ by Michael Morpurgo and ‘The Diary of Anne Frank’ by Anne Frank.
We will be using these to write letters, diary entries and much more! Our topic the whole Spring Term is ‘World War Two’.
We will be learning all about how the war affected children in Britain and Germany. This half term we will be focusing on
Anne Frank and her life. In Science our topic will be ‘Changing States’. We are also lucky enough to have Miss Reedman.
Finally, it is important to remember to have our P.E. kits in school every day.
We also need to remember to read our books and fill in our reading diary every night.
Miss Nicholson and Mrs Litchfield expect us to have high quality entries, with presentation
that is as good as that in our work books at school and entries that show we have thought carefully about what we have read.
For our homework we have to fill out our Reading Diary every week night, learn our spellings and complete a piece of maths
homework related to our topic in class.
A maths game to try
