We are the Bears!!
The Bears have had another fantastic half term! Our Festivals and Celebrations topic has been a great success.
The children really enjoyed the wedding ceremony that they put on for the parents. Thank you to all of you that
were able to attend and support the children. For those of you who were unable to attend please enjoy these photographs!
The children are really enjoying gardening. They have planted spring flowering bulbs in the planters and
pots in the garden. They are really excited to see some shoots appearing!
The children have enjoyed problem solving activities in the garden. The children were encouraged to build a walled den together.
They proved that they can work as a team and persevere with a challenging activity!
The children have thoroughly enjoyed the Wriggly Nativity. They sing the songs constantly in the
garden and the classroom whilst they are working. The children have enjoyed acting out the story in
the role play area which we have set up as Bethlehem.
The children have also been encouraged to complete a Challenge activity each session. If the children see a
wizard’s hat on a table it means that the activity is a challenging one. Children that complete the challenge
activity receive a star sticker. They collect their star stickers on a wizard’s hat. When the hat is filled with
ten stars they can get a prize out of the prize box. The children are highly motivated to fill their hats with stars!
Thank you for supporting our morning routine and encouraging the children to come into the classroom independently.
The children are very capable of doing this alone, feel free to wave goodbye at the window. We put all the letters and
things that you need to read in the children’s individual Communication folders. Please check your child’s Communication
folder each day. If you need to give me a message please write it down and put it into your child’s Communication Folder.
Next half term our topic is called Books and Authors. The children will be learning about the following authors:
- Rod Campbell
- Julia Donaldson
- Eric Carle
- Michael Rosen
